I sit here trying to get some work and done and keep drifting thoughts of how grateful I am to have such 3 beautiful and unique children.Being a parent is not an easy thing but yesterday coming home from a back country ski day I walked in with my camera and shot these images of my kids. It is very true that when you are in a grateful state of mind that everything and everyone is perfect just the way it is. I really get in this state of mind after hiking through the mountains and breathing the fresh alpine air. Typically I would have come inside my house a bit stressed of what I was going to walk into. For instance telling my son Ryder that I am setting the timer to take the idevice, getting caught up with trying to help my wife with our baby Sage crying while Neko my 4 year old twin daughter tries to mediate and get someone’s attention and me telling her not now-later.
Not today, I was present and was on their level, each one of them in a very different place.
This was so easy to capture these images because I became enlightened in that particular moment. This is why I love photography, my most impactful imagery comes to life when I stop and become fully aware. Life is beautiful just the way it is.
Keep it in the moment,
Wow what an amazing event held n Sunday night by the BSCC. You guys did a fantastic job putting on this event and it was a hit with the donations, food and music.
There are such great people in this community that give back and really have a vested interest in seeing Big Sky grow and expand as a community.
Thanks so much to Jessie Neal, Eric Ladd, and Krista Mach for making this happen. Also to the Corral for catering the event and and to all who donated to the auction
I know this event will grow over the years and I look forward to seeing the expansion happen in Big Sky with the Parks and Trails. By adding and enhancing trail systems and parks/rec in Big Sky, we are creating assets to the community and a stronger foundation for generations to come.
Check out this story, it is so true!

This is an image that was the last shot of the photo shoot. I was driving home and I just had to stop to get this last one because I knew it was going to be “the shot”. The light was amazing and Melissa and Chris were so much fun to hang out with and photograph!
What I really love about my job is seeing the real moments, these little glimpses are the heart and spirit of life and really what is important.
Thank you to the Sigourney Family for the great photo shoot, you have beautiful children!
I just dropped my wonderful parents off at the airport from visiting during the Thanksgiving weekend. We had a great time and I am so thankful for what amazing parents raised me and my brothers. I had my camera with me driving down Highway 191 in Montana on my way to Big Sky. I really had a spike of inspiration to bring the patterns that I noticed while looking around and how it is all one and we are all connected to the motion and natural patterns that reflect our inner souls. To photograph from the heart comes from somewhere else, it is not your eyes but your energy that comes out in images. Spend 5 minutes and write down all of things you are thankful for in this life and try to channel that energy in a positive way! Keep it in the Moment.
These are some photographs from a recent engagement shoot, their names are Kim and Tyler and we sure are great match. We really got to know each other over a beautiful sunset on the Gallatin River and some cold beers at Stacey’s Bar in Gallatin Gateway (http://www.staceysbar.com). Thank you two for trusting me and I am so excited to see the energy you bring next summer for the wedding at the beautiful Springhill Pavilion (www.springhillpavilion.com).
I just got finished with a workshop down here in the Bay area and spent a day hanging with one of my childhood friends down in Santa Cruz, CA. I really enjoy having a full relaxing day, it has been way too long. Remember to take some time for your personal spiritual growth so you can give to others.
